The happy egg co., the No.1 free-range egg brand in the UK, faced a growing challenge: competing in a growing egg category with a strong own-brand presence. They needed a new campaign that could drive distinctiveness in the market – reminding shoppers why they’re still the go-to choice for welfare and taste.

The happy egg co.’s mission was twofold: protect their No.1 position in the category and reinforce the happy egg co.’s story to make them stand out from a busy free range fixture.
The solution? Partner with a leading creative agency to showcase what sets them apart – their industry-leading hen welfare practices and delicious, high-quality eggs.
To capture this story through a visual lens, they needed an expert team that could deliver a campaign from ideation through to production.

The recipe for success starts with producing cracking visual content.



Together with a 30-person production crew, Live & Breathe (L&B) Studios headed to the happy egg co.’s farms to launch the campaign, ‘Happy Hens Lay Tasty Eggs’. Over the course of a two-day shoot that took place on the farms, the team captured a suite of welfare-focused footage. In addition to filming the hens in their natural habitat, the video production agency spent the final day at a home location creating delicious food and recipe inspiration.

To bring the farm-to-fork story to life across TVC, radio, OOH, and social, L&B Studios produced 10 and 20-second videos, overlaid with an original composed tune in conjunction with Mining Music. By putting welfare and taste credentials at the forefront, the agency optimised the brand’s messaging, demonstrating the exceptional welfare on the farm and how this translates to tasty eggs to enjoy at home. The result? An end-to-end campaign that not only put the happy egg co.’s welfare standards above the rest but gives consumers a clear reason to choose their products – maximising brand loyalty and commercial potential.
